adulthood: noun; The state or condition of being fully grown or mature.; Example: In adulthood, it is men, not women, who prove to be the aggressors in crime and in war.
aggressive: adjective; Ready or likely to attack or confront; characterized by or resulting from aggression.; Example: But women have proven themselves superior parents as a result of their conditioning, their less aggressive natures and their generally better communication skills.
competitive: adjective; Relating to or characterized by competition.; Example: Boys, in contrast, learn competitive roles far removed from what it means to nurture.
nurture: verb; Care for and protect (someone or something) while they are growing.; Example: From the time they are little girls, females learn about nurturing.
obviously: adverb; In a way that is easily perceived or understood; clearly.; Example: Obviously, in raising children, a more patient, gentle manner is preferable to a more aggressive one.
proven: verb; (of a new method, system, or treatment) tried and tested.; Example: But women have proven themselves superior parents as a result of their conditioning, their less aggressive natures and their generally better communication skills.
rear: verb; Bring up and care for (a child) until they are fully grown.; Example: Of course, communication is of utmost importance in rearing children, as children tend to learn from and adopt the communication styles of their parents.
tend: verb; Be liable to possess or display (a particular characteristic).; Example: While boys may dream of adventures, girls' conditioning means they tend to see the future in terms of raising families.
throughout: adverb; In every part of a place or object.; Example: The view that women are better parents than men has shown itself to be true throughout history.
verbal: adjective; Relating to or in the form of words.; Example: This is shown is intelligence tests, where females, on average, do better in verbal communication than males.
